U.S. specialty coffee, tea retailer to open 14 stores in UAE

The UAE will soon get 14 Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf stores, as part of the company's Middle East expansion, with Dubai being the first stop. The move was announced just after it revealed plans to open stores in South Korea and Brunei.

The internationally recognised specialty coffee and tea retailer will open its first Dubai store in June. The UAE stores will open under an area development agreement with Dubtrade.

Dubtrade Chairman Ismail Akil Abbasi said the stores will succeed because the product will suit the UAE's sophisticated consumers.

"We have long admired the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf brand and their success in the U.S. and Asia, and felt that their proven track record of outstanding, innovative coffee and tea products and customer service would ideally serve our discerning market." Founded in 1963, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf is the oldest and largest privately held specialty coffee and tea retailer in the U.S. The company has more than 150 stores.
